The 10th Commandment - "I Need, I Need!"

Sermon Series: Love God, Love Others, Follow Jesus

Speaker: Pastor Bill Wilton

A Sermon On: Exodus 20:17

17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

Theme:  In the Old Testament the Hebrew people were called to obey the Commandments as their part in the Covenant that God made with them after their deliverance from Egypt.  How Should Christians hear these commandments in light of Jesus teachings and New Covenant promises?  What is at the heart of the temptation to crave something that belongs to someone else?  Where are we tempted to covet today?  And how can we overcome the temptation?
